Set project goals and milestones to get your team off to a great start!
Are you a Charlotte-based industrial or technical business that needs help clarifying your workforce’s operational and project procedures?
Before you form a new project team, stop. Pause, and do this before you do anything else: Have your team document the project parameters.
Defining the parameters of a project is the foundation for success. To create the associated document requires thinking things through in advance. This, in turn, will give more credibility to the project, especially the schedule and budget. You can then update this document as the team achieves milestone progress and supplement it with meeting minutes.
The components of a good team guidance document are:
- Goals to achieve
- Background information (why the team exists)
- Description of the project scope
- Team members and their responsibilities
- Executive or management sponsors
- Milestones to meet (with a schedule)
- Budget (if applicable)
- Success metrics
- Deliverables
